What a week!
This year, our special guests for Music Flood Week are Taiko Meantime. Taiko Meantime strike at the heart of Taiko drumming’s magic: an enthralling combination of traditional Japanese rhythms and techniques with eclectic, original compositions, enticing their audience to follow them on a musical journey.
Taiko Meantime will lead workshops and assemblies before finishing the week performing with our partnership pupils at concerts in Abingdon’s Market Square and Radley College’s Theatre.
Music Flood Week marks the beginning of our Annual Programme with our partnership schools
With highly publicised inequalities in funding, training, confidence and provision for music in schools, our cross-sector partnership is a powerful tool to ensure every child benefits from an inspiring music education. We focus our provision on schools in Abingdon, providing opportunities which are frequent and sustained.
The Music Flood Annual Programme is designed to enhance music in schools through opportunities for your pupils to experience live music and learn from trained music specialists in a variety of vocal and instrumental projects.
Our CPD provides the opportunity for all teachers, regardless of musical experience, to develop their musical skills, knowledge and confidence. All sessions are led by experienced musicians and teachers with all resources provided.
Inspiration Assemblies
We are always proud of the enthusiasm and energy our secondary school pupils bring to Music Flood Week - whether they are leading assemblies in primary schools or busking in playgrounds at the end of the day.
